What’s new in Aspose.Cells for Java 24.2

Release Highlights

Aspose.Cells for Java 24.2 enhances document rendering, chart calculation, and smart marker support. This release introduces OXPS format support, options for calculating chart layout, and improved column width detection. Multiple bugs affecting PDF, HTML, image export, and GridWeb interaction are also resolved.

New Features

  • Support for OXPS Format (Open XML Paper Specification):
The new FileFormatType.Oxps enum enables saving Excel files in OXPS format, expanding export capabilities for document archiving.

  • Chart Layout Calculation Options:
A new ChartCalculateOptions class and Chart.calculate(ChartCalculateOptions) method provide granular control over auto-layout of chart elements like axes and plot areas.

  • Hidden Column Width Detection:
The Cells.getColumnWidthPixel(int, boolean) method now accurately retrieves the pixel width of hidden columns.

Enhancements

  • EMF Export Optimization:
Enhanced EMF image export to reduce file size significantly when rendering worksheets, improving performance in image-heavy reports.

Bug Fixes

  • Rendering and Layout Issues:

    • Fixed dialog box rendering issues in PDF output.
    • Resolved formatting inconsistencies in HTML export for several worksheet layouts.
    • Addressed incorrect X-axis label orientation in chart image conversion.
  • Formula and Calculation Errors:

    • Corrected formula evaluation bugs including incorrect values and misinterpreted dashes.
    • Improved reliability in multiple formula calculations.
  • PDF and Image Export:

    • Fixed scaling and resolution inconsistencies in EMF images.
    • Corrected page count miscalculations when rendering to PDF with high print quality.
  • HTML Export Bugs:

    • Addressed errors in conditional formatting in HTML output.
    • Fixed cell content loss, formatting issues, and file hang on save.
  • GridWeb and Smart Marker Fixes:

    • Resolved visibility issues with value list validation in GridWeb.
    • Fixed Json object data source issues in smart markers.
  • Column Width Accuracy:

    • Improved width calculations for hidden columns, which previously returned incorrect pixel widths.
