Aspose.Cells for Java 24.8 introduces LaTeX and MathML export for equations, extended pivot and sort functionality, and customizable behavior for merged cells and invisible shapes. The update also resolves critical rendering, memory, and formatting bugs related to PDF, HTML, and Excel file operations.

New Features

• Equation Export to LaTeX and MathML:
  Developers can now export equations using EquationNode.toLaTeX() and toMathML() for mathematical document processing and digital publishing.

• JSON Schema Retention on Save:
  The new JsonSaveOptions.schemas property supports exporting the structure of each worksheet along with its data when saving Excel to JSON.

• Merged Cell Shrinking Options:
  MergedCellsShrinkType enum and DeleteBlankOptions.mergedCellsShrinkType let you control how merged cells behave when deleting blank rows or columns.

• Document Property Encryption:
  A new SaveOptions.encryptDocumentProperties property allows secure handling of document metadata when saving encrypted files.

• Pivot Enhancements:

  • PivotTable.sourceType indicates the pivot table’s data source.
  • PivotField.sortBy(...) and sortSetting enable sorting by field or custom settings.
  • New SortOrder.natural allows preserving original data order in pivots.

• Improved HTML and Grid Options:

  • HtmlSaveOptions.encodeEntityAsCode allows replacing character entities with numeric codes for broader compatibility.
  • Config.skipInvisibleShapes in GridJs skips hidden shapes from the UI export (default true).

• Slicer Management API:
  SlicerCollection.clear() simplifies removing all slicers from a worksheet.

Bug Fixes

• Rendering and Layout Issues:

  • Resolved incomplete line rendering when saving Excel to PDF.
  • Fixed missing row and column labels in PDF pivot table exports.
  • Addressed extra strings appearing when coloring partial text in chart shapes.

• Content and Formatting:

  • Resolved image URL rendering via Cell.setHtmlString.
  • Preserved currency symbols when saving to ODS format.
  • Corrected display errors in HTML conversions.
  • Ensured setSkipBlanks(true) properly omits blank source cells.

• File Loading and Memory Handling:

  • Prevented OutOfMemoryException when loading large .XLS files.

• Pivot and Workbook Copying:

  • Workbook copy operation now correctly transfers all settings.
  • Fixes for pivot table insertion issues and column style inheritance.
