Release Highlights

Aspose.Cells for Java 25.3 introduces advanced smart marker handling with array slicers and multiple ranges, adds robust chart layout APIs using relative ratios, and significantly improves formula evaluation for complex functions like XMATCH and LAMBDA. This update also addresses several PDF, DOCX, XLSM, and HTML rendering bugs.

New Features

• Smart Marker Multi-Range & Array Support:

  • Support setting multiple ranges for smart marker regions.
  • Access array slicers within Excel templates during smart marker processing.

• Markdown Export Enhancements:

  • Specify target sheets for .md output using MarkdownSaveOptions.sheetSet.
  • Control table headers with MarkdownTableHeaderType.

• New Chart Layout API:

  • Replaced all pixel-based position properties with relative ratio properties for ChartArea, ChartFrame, PlotArea, and ChartTitle.
  • New ratio-based properties: .xRatioToChart, .yRatioToChart, .widthRatioToChart, .heightRatioToChart.
  • Pixel-based versions like ChartFrame.xPixel are also available for precise rendering.

• GridJs 2.0 Enhancements:

  • Added GridJsOptions, GridJsService, and GridJsControllerBase for complete client-server integration.
  • Config.baseRouteName allows flexible API endpoint naming.

Enhancements

• Improved Formula Engine:

  • XMATCH and XLOOKUP now properly support multiple lookup values, search modes, and handle error conditions more accurately.
  • Better support for LAMBDA functions with relative references inside shared formulas.

• HTML and PDF Export Fixes:

  • Solved issues with background color, text alignment, and border overlaps in exported HTML.
  • Fixed PDF conversion bugs such as missing data, encoding errors, and image scaling issues from Excel to PDF or DOCX.

• Smart Marker JSON Data Handling:

  • Corrected issues rendering object arrays and eliminated exceptions with invalid JSON inputs.

• VBA Module Enhancements:

  • New VbaModule.binaryCodes property provides access to binary module content.
  • Fixed garbled character output from VbaModule.getCodes().

New Properties and Methods:

• WorkbookDesigner.process(Range, boolean) — smart marker range-specific processing.
• PivotTable.getSource(boolean) — original vs. updated data source access.
• Cell.getDisplayStyle(BorderType) — get cell style considering border blending.
• Shape.fitToTextSize() — auto-resize shape to fit its content.
• FontConfigs.getFontFileDataInfo(...) — fetch font metadata.

New Enums:

• LookInType.formattedValues — search formatted cell text only.
• MarkdownTableHeaderType, MarkdownSaveOptions.tableHeaderType

Chart Layout Changes (Obsoleted/Replaced):

• Replaced pixel-based properties (.x, .y, .width, .height) with:
  • xRatioToChart, yRatioToChart, widthRatioToChart, heightRatioToChart
• Affects: ChartArea, ChartFrame, PlotArea, Charts.title

Obsoleted:

• Chart.toImage(string, long) — use overload with ImageOrPrintOptions.
• Direct pixel dimensions in chart layout APIs — replaced by ratio properties.

GridJs Platform Updates:
