Release Highlights

Aspose.OCR for .NET 24.11.1 (DLLs Only) expands multilingual OCR with support for Indic, Chinese, and Cyrillic scripts – ideal for regional document processing and multilingual datasets.

✳️ New Feature

  • Cyrillic/English Hybrid OCR: Language.European now supports experimental detection of mixed Cyrillic + English blocks.
  • South Indian Language OCR:
    • Language.Tel – Telugu-English recognition.
    • Language.Tam – Tamil-English recognition.
    • Language.Kan – Kannada-English recognition.

🔧 Enhancement

  • Devanagari OCR: Language.Indic introduces support for texts across Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, etc., combined with English.
  • Chinese Universal Recognition: Language.Chinese now handles simplified/traditional characters mixed with English content.

Most new recognition options require external OCR model installation.

🛠 Fix

  • (All listed changes are functional enhancements; no isolated bug fixes.)

⚠️ Deprecation Notice

The following changes will be enforced in Aspose.OCR 25.1.0:

  • 🔁 Language API Migration: Replace deprecated constants with ISO-compliant values like Language.Indic, Language.Chinese, etc.
  • 🔁 Country Setting: Use Country.NONE instead of UNIVERSAL for passport MRZ suppression.
  • 🔁 DetectAreasMode Cleanup:
    • NONE, TEXT_IN_WILD, PHOTO, COMBINE, DOCUMENT → ❌ deprecated
    • Use LEAN, UNIVERSAL, MULTICOLUMN → ✅ supported

Migration recommended now to avoid compatibility issues in January 2025.
