Release Highlights

Aspose.OCR for .NET 24.11.1 adds wide support for Indic and Cyrillic scripts, enabling recognition of mixed-language texts like Devanagari-English, Tamil-English, and more.

✳️ New Feature

  • Mixed-Language Cyrillic/English OCR: Introduced an experimental recognition model under Language.European, allowing OCR of combined Cyrillic-Latin text blocks.
  • New Indic OCR Support:
    • Language.Tel – Telugu-English mixed recognition.
    • Language.Tam – Tamil-English mixed recognition.
    • Language.Kan – Kannada-English mixed recognition.

🔧 Enhancement

  • Devanagari + English (Indic): Language.Indic now supports universal recognition for Devanagari-based Indic languages.
  • Universal Chinese OCR: Language.Chinese upgraded for mixed-script Chinese-English scenarios.

All enhancements are language-model specific and require the respective OCR feature module.

  • (No explicit bug fixes; improvements delivered via language model updates.)

⚠️ Deprecation Notice

The following APIs are deprecated and will be removed in version 25.1.0 (January 2025):

  • Obsolete Language Codes: Transition to ISO 639-2 compliant values under Aspose.OCR.Language.
  • Country Setting: Replace Country.UNIVERSAL with Country.NONE to disable MRZ extraction.
  • DetectAreasMode Cleanup:
    • Deprecated: NONE, PHOTO, COMBINE, TEXT_IN_WILD, DOCUMENT
    • Use: LEAN, UNIVERSAL, or MULTICOLUMN instead

✅ Continue using deprecated values temporarily, but begin migration before 2025.
